No plane? No problem.

After a global pandemic, Japan Airlines was looking for a fresh brand campaign announcing that Japan would soon be open to visitors. So, how do you get people to book a flight before it’s possible to fly anywhere? We tapped into a powerful human truth: The dreams of travel - the anticipation, the planning - those are the best parts of the trip. We brought that insight to life with help of artist Yuhki Demers of Into the Spiderverse fame, with a literal “dream trip” to Japan, with no planes necessary. TV, social, and an interactive “Dream Flight” simulator allowed people to fly like Superman in the best dream ever over their planned itinerary to Japan. This sparked imaginations worldwide to visit Japan, flying in a new way.
